Henry Musgrave Musgrave 1800 - 1887


George and Margaret Musgrave's next child Henry Musgrave Musgrave was born in 1800 and christened 8th July at Edingley Nottinghanshire. Following his education Henry became a barrister in Law.

Henry married Sarah Popperwell Pullan at Gedling Church Nottighamshire 21st December 1841.

The census below shows Henry and his wife Sarah living at Back Lane, Loudwater, High Wycombe. Also listed is their only child George Arthur Musgrave who was born in 1843 and christened 30th July at Monks Risborough Bucks. Also listed are four servants whose jobs are described as cook, lady's maid, house maid and footman.

Henry's wife Sarah Musgrave Died in 1861 as reported in The Times Below is a guide book account of the Musgrave's property called Beech Hill in Loudwater from the time.

 

1871 Census Henry Musgrave New Bond Street

The 1871 census above shows Henry Musgrave now living in central London. He moved away fron High Wycombe after the death of his wife Sarah in 1861. At the time of his son's marriage in 1867 Henry was living in Sussex Gardens Hyde Park. The census shows him living at a bording house at 162 New Bond Street.

The directory listing below from 1876 lists Henry M Musgrave at Shrub's Hill Sunningdale Bucks.

This appears to have been his country residence following his leaving Beech Hill Loudwater Bucks in the early 1860's with his son.

The 1881 census above shows Henry Musgrave now aged 80 living at his son's house at 45 Holland Park London. As his son was away from home in Australia, his 3 year old son Arthur Franklyn Musgrave was staying with his grandfather. Also Listed are 5 servants .
