Jack Digby
(right) first son of Lilly (Musgrove) Digby 1907-1995 married Lillian
(Barrett) Digby in 1929. Lillian was born in 1909 died 2006 aged 96.
Two children John and Betty above. John married Jane Hall one child
Alison.

Jack
Digby was a very sucessful business man he was a director of a wholesale
steel company. After the war he always had expensive cars, for many
years he had season tickets at the Arsenal also at Jack Solomons boxing
promotions
he saw all the title fights including Randolph Turpin v Sugar Ray Robinson.
He also belonged to various London clubs. However his main interested
was racing he never missed Glorious Goodwood or Ascot. His best pal
was Paddy Murphy who was stud groom to Lady Halifax. In his sixties
he bought
a lovely house in Ewell close to Epsom race course where he was a frequent
visitor. He worked until his mid seventies. In his eighties he moved
to Eastbourne with his second
wife Betty ( Herber) Digby. He died in 1993 aged 88. |
