In 1872 James's son Mark James Harris (known as James) married Elizabeth Izatt at the parish church of St Philip Lambeth. The couple were living at 32 Paradise Street Lambeth, but by 1881 Elizabeth was suffering from ill health as the census records her as being a patient at the Camberwell Infirmary. The 1891 census shows James and Elizabeth living at 4 Cleveland Street Camberwell but by 1901 James was suffering from illhealth and was a patient at the Camberwell infirmary. It is believed he died shortly after.
