The couple moved from Brockley to live with Adelaide's daughter Ruby in 1968. Ruby and her husband Joe Buck had been living for a short while with Adelaide and Jack. They then all moved to a house in Forest Hill. Jack died on the 23rd December 1972 at the family home in Grierson Road aged 84. The certificate shows he was a retired Berthing Master for the Port of London. Jethro was instrumental in getting his nephew Sam Digby a job as a dock labourer in the St Catherine's Dock London. In the twenties and thirties this was a well paid and respected job.
Adelaide lived for a further six years and died in Lewisham Hospital aged 92.
